About 4FILMMAKERS
4FILMMAKERS is an independent publication about the tools and techniques of making moving images. We write for filmmakers, videographers and content creators who want to know what a new camera, lens or update changes for their work, without the hype.
What we cover
- Cameras: cinema cameras, mirrorless video bodies and firmware updates.
- Lenses: primes, zooms, anamorphics and cine glass, judged on how they behave in video.
- Software: editing, colour grading, audio and VFX tools.
- Accessories: gimbals, monitors, audio, lights, filters, drones and rigs.
- Tips: tutorials on exposure, light, sound, movement, editing and colour.
How we work
- Primary sources first. Specifications, prices and dates come from the manufacturer’s own announcement or documentation. Every article lists its sources at the end.
- Facts and opinion kept apart. When something is a first report, a rumour or our own view, we say so in the text.
- Written from scratch. We read other coverage to check facts, but every article is our own writing, with our own diagrams and comparisons.
- Useful over fast. We would rather publish a few hours later with the numbers right than first with a spec sheet.
- Dated and updated. Every article shows when it was published. When prices, availability or test results change, we update the article.
Images
We use public domain photos, our own graphics, and official product images that manufacturers publish for editorial coverage. We never reuse other publications’ photos. Every image is credited in its caption or on our photo credits page.
Independence
No brand pays to appear in our news or tutorials, and no brand reviews an article before it is published. If we ever publish sponsored content or use affiliate links, it will be clearly labelled on the page where it appears.
Corrections
If we get something wrong, we fix it and note the correction at the end of the article. Spotted a mistake? Send us a message on Instagram.
