# Osmo Action 7 rumors: every claim graded, and should you buy the Action 6 now?

DJI hasn't announced the **Osmo Action 7**, and the rumor sites can't agree on what it is. You'll find 8K at 30 fps or 60 fps, a 1/1.1-inch sensor or a full 1-inch one, and prices from $349 to $449, mostly with no named source. Leaked photos show that prototypes exist. The specs don't hold up, and the Osmo Action 6 already does several of the "new" things on the lists.

We went through every claim we could find, traced it back as far as it goes and gave it a grade. Then the practical part: if you shoot in Europe and need an action camera this autumn, do you buy the Action 6 at 379€ or wait?

## In short

- Nothing about the Action 7 is official. As of 29 October 2026 there's no DJI teaser and no public FCC filing.
- Prototype photos from August are real enough. They show unbranded bodies and one readable 4K30 mode.

## Which Osmo Action 7 rumors can you trust?

Our grades: *solid* means someone has seen hardware, *plausible* means one traceable report that fits DJI's habits, *weak* means nobody names where it came from.

The photos are the only hard evidence. Seavu traced them to a Portuguese drone account on 11 August and to Reddit before they spread on Chinese social media. They're low resolution and cropped, and the one setting you can read on a screen, 4K30, is a mode the Action 6 already has. They show DJI is testing hardware, and tell you nothing about the sensor or frame rates.

## Which "new" features does the Action 6 already have?

Several rumor tables compare the Action 7 with the wrong camera. Line the claims up against DJI's own Action 6 spec sheet and the square sensor, the variable aperture and 8K30 turn out to be things you can already buy.

The storage line gives the game away. A table that calls 128 GB an upgrade "from 47 GB" was built on the Action 5 Pro, a camera two generations old. The same article puts the current waterproof rating on the Action 5 Pro too. One roundup even lists an "upgraded 1/1.3-inch" sensor as an option, which would be smaller than the 1/1.1-inch chip DJI already ships.

For filmmakers, the claim worth caring about is 4K at 240 fps. That's 8x slow motion at full 4K, against the Action 6's 1080p at 240. If DJI delivers it, mountain bike and surf shooters get a reason to upgrade, but so far it rests on one unsourced line in a roundup.

## When will the Osmo Action 7 launch?

No one outside DJI has a date. Two guesses point the same way: skeg.jp expects an announcement before 11 November, and TechAvid says early November. Both fit DJI's calendar, since the Action 6 launched in China on 13 November 2025 and worldwide on 18 November. Seavu, which tracks the camera, still listed no FCC filing and no teaser in its 28 October update. A late-October claim that the Action 7 appears in DJI's US court filing is wrong: the brief DJI filed with the Ninth Circuit on 15 April 2026 mentions 25 planned launches but names none of them.

## Will you be able to buy it in the US and in Europe?

In the US, probably not from DJI. The FCC action of 22 December 2025 means new DJI products can't get the equipment authorization they need, and DJI's own brief says 25 of its 2026 launches are stuck. The Action 6 had already skipped the official US market: DJI told Gizmodo at launch it wouldn't sell it through its own channels and had no timeline. American buyers ended up with third-party sellers and grey imports, and the Action 7 would almost certainly go the same way.

Europe has no such restriction. The Action 6 sells on DJI's EU store and through normal retailers, so you can expect the Action 7 there on day one with a regular EU warranty.

## Should you buy the Osmo Action 6 now or wait?

We checked DJI's EU store on 29 October: the Standard Combo is 379€, shown against a 436€ reference price, and the Adventure Combo is 536€. At launch DJI priced them at 379€ and 479€. In the UK, Argos lists the Standard Combo at £379 and PriceSpy's lowest price is £319.

No. As of 29 October 2026 DJI hasn't announced or teased the Osmo Action 7, and no FCC filing has appeared. Leaked prototype photos from August 2026 are the only hard evidence.

**Q: Does the Osmo Action 7 shoot 8K?**
